RE: Swimming pools

We put in an above ground 10 years ago. Season goes from mid May to early October. I'm spending about 300 a year in maintenance. Would I do it again? Yes, but just better quality and bigger deck . My DD & SIL just put in a 20 x 40 inground with lots of deck/patio space and have really enjoyed it this year. So have I:B So much so that I never opened our pool this year, cause they only live 5 minutes away. My only regret is that I miss our midnite "skinny-dipping":S
I know, tooo much information.

RE: Michelin Tires

My choice, I'd put LT's on both truck and trailer. Again, that's my choice.

RE: Anybody Going Truck Shopping Today (8/30/08)?

rsh757, if you get any closer to an F-450, I'll fly back home and kick your butt:B:B You've got a beautiful truck there and I trust a relationship with it. DON'T RUIN A GOOD THING. Unless they've leveled out the road up to Lea Hill & GRCC, you want that Cummins.
(I was raised in Orting and went to GRCC and spent 2 years with the Fire Co. on 112 and 312 in the 60's)

RE: How Do You Level this Thing?

I would not go more than 2 layers high myself. That's a WHOLE LOT of out of level. Now I've only been west of the Mississippi by one state, so I don't have that western influence, but if you gotta lift more than 3-4 inches , that's a lot of side action, in my book.

RE: clear screen door

Did my door with "Lexan", available at all the home improvement stores. Then I used mirror mounts (wing screws) to fasten into the door. Best done by removing the screen door and laying it out on a table to use the door as a pattern/template. Cut the Lexan with a jig saw "carefully", then use a Dremel like tool for trim as needed.

RE: mileage with a diesel

With almost 13K in tow, I'm running 12 to 12.5 mpg, 60-62 mph, on a trip from Dover to Shipshewana to Niagra Falls and back to Dover. My around town will sometimes see 18. This is with a 2004.5 3500DRW and 4.10's on a A/T.

RE: Where to tell tire shop to jack.

Been there, done that, got the new axles to prove it!:B Had the unit in for bearing repack (a little bay water got too high). Did the left side fine, but when the mechanic went to the right side, he apparently had a "brain freeze" and picked up the rig 2 feet inboard on the axle. RESULT: 2 new axles. I was standing on the other side of the rig at the time.
Watch them.

RE: The first time you met your spouse!

OMG, where to start. Got married 6 months before going to RVN (in 67). Got a "Dear John" in RVN in 68. In 1970, my buddy from RVN and I are stationed near Seattle, so we share an apartment. My EX calls, "just wants to see me" so, cool, OK. My buddy & his G/F, me and the EX stop by KFC to see (G/F'S) friend. So intro's are made, (the EX still using my name). So the 4 of us leave KFC and my comment was - "I'm gonna marry that girl". Now my buddy ask's: WHO???
My reply: "The one with the long, dark hair, behind the cash register, whatever her name is". So eight months later, (1971) we get married.... and have been for 37 years and 2 girls with 4 grand kids. End of story?????? NOT QUITE. Summer of 2005, phone rings..."were you married to (EX)?. Answer: Yes. "I think your my Dad". DNA says 99.98 per cent. Finally meet daughter I never knew of, when she is 35 years, married and I have 2 more grand kids.
Yeah, it's been a different life.

RE: To tow or not to tow, that is the question

D & N, your going to have a full load in the bed (if it fits). That bike is gonna weigh in at least 1,000 pounds. Where you gonna tow 4 down or on a dolly for the SUV?? Any chance to get 2 axle "car carrier", both the SUV and the bike ought to fit on it. The one's I've seen have a 20 foot bed length. And get with it soon before the weather starts to turn on you.

RE: great campground bad campsite

OK, real answers. Did you "pick" this site from early registration, or is this just the place you got stuck?? You did have reservations prior to arrival, yes? Just trying to determine if you have cause for complaint.

RE: Car wash n' wax or RV wash n' wax?

Like everything else, if there is a niche to dig into your pocket, somebody will find it.:S Just use a good quality wash for "your vehicle". Read the label, if it says DON'T use on......., then look at another brand. There are several out there, I use Blue Coral myself, and am happy with it. That way i only buy (and have to store), one bottle of "car wash".

RE: Do you belong to a local Good Sam's Club?

It really disappointes me to hear no response when some one asks for info on joining a Good Sam Club. Now maybe it's because Delaware is such a small state:S; or maybe because I'm pretty active in my chapter and the State. Regardless, get on the web site for your state, or check with a dealer in your area, and SHOW UP. Best way is just JUMP IN.
